Care and Support

Listed below are various opportunities to be "practioners of radical hospitality" on more of an individual or one-on-one basis.

Helping Hands

This group provides short-term assistance with everyday tasks such as transportation to medical appointments and provision of meals, during times of medical or other family emergencies. We act as caring and supportive “small town” neighbors to our growing parish family.

To request a Helping Hand for yourself or someone you know, or to become a member of the Helping Hands team, call the church office.

Help stock the Helping Hands Casserole Bank with freezable casseroles and other ready-to-heat-up foods. Pick up a set of instructions in the narthex.

Labyrinth Keepers

Labyrinth Keepers seek to incorporate our labyrinth into our worship and parish life. LKs are on hand during open walks (the fourth Sunday of the month and special times throughout the year) to maintain a quiet and sacred space, answer questions and support those who are present to walk. LKs meet regularly to improve the labyrinth project.

Contact the church office for more information.

Pastoral Care Ministry

Pastoral Care Ministers provide caring one-on-one pastoral support to parishioners in time of need. Recipients may be grieving the loss of a loved one, hospitalized or homebound, experiencing the breakup of a marriage, the loss of a job, or going through some other challenging experience.

To seek the assistance of a Parish Care Minister, call one of the clergy.

Shawl Ministry

Members of this ministry knit, crochet, quilt, weave or otherwise create shawls to comfort and support those who are having either a difficult time or a special life event. Shawls are made available for clergy to have on hand for anyone who needs one. Members can work on their own or meet with others any second or fourth Tuesday of the fall/winter months or any Wednesday in the summer. Meetings are held in the Cry Room/Chapel from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
