Beyond Our Walls
St. Anne’s sponsors several mission trips each year for adults and teens. In the past we’ve sent youth and adults on weeklong mission trips, including those described below. We have also financially assisted parishioners on individual missions aboard Mercy Ships and in Kenya.
Appalachia/Dungannon
Our participation in this Region V project takes place in late July to early August each year. Parish adults and youth (rising high school freshmen or older unless accompanied by a parent) participate in home construction projects for the low-income families of Dungannon, Virginia. This year 22 parishioners, armed with work gloves and tools, energy and stamina, compassion and a banjo, helped make a difference in the lives of this Appalachian community.

Dominican Republic
2008 Trip Update from Father Jim
This trip in support of the local Episcopal Diocese occurs between the end of June and the end of July each year. Parish adults and youth who have completed 10th grade or older work a portion of each day on one or more construction projects. The highlight of this trip, however, is the Vacation Bible School for 100 or more Dominican children. The cost of the trip is approximately $1200 per participant, although this cost may be reduced by fundraising.

Philadelphia Youth Trip
This youth mission trip provides interactive games and activities as well as loving attention to school-aged homeless children living in a family homeless shelter in northern Philadelphia during the summer when there is otherwise little for these children to do.
